Implantable Grades

Titanium and Titanium Alloys

Titanium materials provide superior biocompatibility with the human body. They naturally resist corrosion, remain non-magnetic, and possess an elastic modulus similar to natural bone—a distinctive property that sets them apart from other metallic implant materials.

Instrument Grades

Austenitic Stainless Steels

These stainless steels offer excellent shaping capability and strong resistance to degradation in bodily environments. Adjusting chromium or molybdenum levels enhances corrosion protection, while nickel variations determine whether the material bends more easily or remains non-magnetic. Medical professionals use these alloys for surgical implants and connecting hardware inside the body.

Precipitation Hardening Stainless Steels

These specialized materials start soft and workable, then transform into extremely hard, strong components through a simple heat treatment, referred to as aging. Engineers specify them for intricate shapes requiring both exceptional strength and superior corrosion resistance.

Martensitic & Ferritic Stainless Steels

Martensitic grades deliver durability and edge retention while resisting typical environmental deterioration. These grades can achieve high hardness through quenching and tempering. Medical applications include surgical cutting instruments and scalpel blades.

Ferritic varieties provide reliable corrosion protection for applications where material durability matters more than forming flexibility. Manufacturers can tailor the internal structure through composition adjustments and processing methods to achieve specific magnetic characteristics or other targeted properties. These grades may not be hardened through heat treatment, but through cold working only.
